The William Morris Society has a world-wide membership and offers the opportunity, together with fellow Morrisians both in Britain and abroad, to perpetuate the memory of one of the greatest men of the nineteenth century. The Society also encourages the work of local, regional and national groups.
Regular events include a wide range of talks on all aspects of Morris’s life and work and related subjects, workshops, an annual Kelmscott Lecture, a Morris Birthday Party, a Summer Garden Party, guided walks and visits to exhibitions and such places as Red House, Kelmscott Manor, Standen and Wightwick Manor. Members are entitled to tickets at a discounted rate for Society events.
Members of the Society receive a quarterly Newsletter which reports on Society events, events organised by other organisations, new publications and other matters of interest to members and the Newsletter of the William Morris Society in the USA. Members also receive a copy of the Journal of William Morris Studies, published biannually, which includes scholarly articles across the field of Morris studies and reviews of publications relevant to Morris’s life and work.
